After Being Accused Of Domestic Violence, Court Bans TV Actress Arzoo Govitrikar’s Husband’s Entry In Their Worli House

A few months back, Television and Bollywood actress Arzoo Govitrikar approached the Worli Police and filed a complaint against her husband Siddharth Sabharwal alleging that he repeatedly assaulted her under the influence of alcohol. Arzoo and Sabharwal tied the knot in 2010 after a brief courtship. The couple then stayed at their house on Pochkhanawala Road in Worli. Arzoo then moved out of their house in February and she termed it as “another round of brutal assault”.

Now, according to a latest report in Mumbai Mirror, Arzoo Govitrikar husband has been banned from entering their house in Worli. Reportedly, the Dadar Metropolitan Court last month ordered Sabharwal to not enter the couple’s Worli house till further notice. Report states, “Metropolitan Magistrate RM Karade also directed that Sabharwal should not accost Govitrikar, and that the copy of his order be sent to Worli Police Station.”

The Mirror report further states, “Metropolitan Magistrate Karade’s ex-parte order, issued without hearing Sabharwal’s side, noted that the magistrate was “satisfied that an ex-parte order was necessary, as the photographs attached with Arzoo’s complaint prima facie suggested that she had been subjected to domestic violence”.

On February 15, Arzoo Govitrikar – sister of model-actress Aditi Govitrikar – submitted the CCTV footage, which showed Sabharwal slapping her, to Worli Police. Then the complaint filed on February 19 read that the couple had an argument over Sabharwal’s alcohol consumption, after which he “dragged her inside the bathroom around 4 am and hit her viciously”.

As per the tabloid, the complaint said, “After another round of arguments on February 22, Sabharwal “spat” on Govitrikar and “repeated the act” when she protested.” The Worli police had then booked Sabharwal under the Indian Penal Code sections 498A (cruelty), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insult with intention to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting woman’s modesty).

Back in February, when Sabharwal was asked about it, he had told the tabloid that the actress was the one had “asked him to slap her” saying she was “rehearsing for a crime show”.
